First off, a big congratulations to all the students who participated in the end of school Summer Recitals. We were fortunate to have three recitals to end this school year, a Voice Recital, A Stevens Point Recital and a Marshfield Recital. Everyone performed so well and their hard work was obvious. And of course a big THANK YOU to the wonderful Stevens Point and Marshfield teachers who made this progress possible; Tom McComb (guitar lessons, ukulele lessons, banjo lessons), Emily Stuebs (voice lessons), Katie Anderson (voice lessons), Christine Smith (piano lessons), Chris Kokesh (violin lessons, singing lessons, guitar lessons), Teresita Marchel (violin lessons), Emily Volland (piano lessons), Evan Webster (guitar lessons), Aaron Marx (violin lessons, piano lessons, composition lessons), and Heidi Corcoran (cello lessons, voice lessons). Without the skill and dedication of these excellent music teachers, our students simply wouldn't shine as bright or have as much fun performing their music.
Another big round of applause goes to the students who completed the 100 Day Practice Challenge. Unlike the Fall Practicing competition which features 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners each year, the 100 Day Practice Challenge is exactly that: if you practice for 100 Days in a row you win! So, hats off to those who completed that formidable task. We know that you are all much better musicians for having done so.
Make sure you have the SUMMER BREAK June 29 - July 5 on your calendar. Music lessons will resume Monday July 6, so enjoy your 4th of July with fireworks, a cookout, plenty of time with family and friends and maybe a little bit of practicing.
And finally, we saved the best for last. Many of you have had personal interactions with our Office Manager, Jessica Johnson, who is answering phone calls and emails during lessons during the week at the Stevens Point location. As some of you who have had the pleasure to sit in the waiting room talking to Jess know, she was going through a rather trying pregnancy. Well, last Monday night at 9:13 pm Jess gave birth to her son Greyson. Both Jess and Greyson are doing well. We wish them the best health and wishes and can't wait to have Jess back.
